Flag Lighting Project

The Texas Panhandle War Memorial Foundation is raising funds to increase the nighttime lighting on our flags that fly in the center of our Memorial Park. The memorials list the names of over 1,550 Panhandle military personnel who gave their lives for our freedom.  Although there are two bright lights on poles that illuminate the park memorials surrounding the flags, we need better lighting since our US flag was stolen last month. We want to be a leader in showing respect for our flag.

Our lighting project entails trenching an underground electrical line in conduit from a drop on a pole on the north end of the park. We will install three LED lights in two locations on the ground to properly light the flags (US, Texas, and POW) at night.

The estimated cost of this project is $4,599. If you would like to help us respect our flag, you may mail a check to us at 4111 S. Georgia, Amarillo, TX 79110, or go to our web page TexasPanhandleWarMemorial.com and use the donate button.

The Texas Panhandle War Memorial Foundation is an IRS 501 (c) (3) charity and exempt from state sales tax and federal taxes.
